Have you decided on what to read this month? Come and join us on MyBibliomaniacs February Readalong.
As all of you might have known, MyBibliomaniacs will be hosting a readalong every month. So, by the middle of each month, two polls will be up on our Twitter account to help us to decide what to read for the following month. The first poll is where you have to vote for one genre that you are most interested in. After the genre that have the most votes is announced, another poll will be up. This second poll will suggest you four book titles based on the particular genre and again, you have to vote for the one you are most interested in. After 24 hours, our Twitter Admins (KMN) will announce what book is chosen for the following month.
If you haven't follow us on Twitter yet, please do not hesitate at all to join us at @MYbibliomaniacs. We welcome every and each of you, regardless what type of reader you are. Even if you are not much of a reader but somehow interested to see what we are doing in our humble book community, you are welcomed too!
So, in January, the two magical polls were up and ended up with Flowers for Alegernon by Daniel Keyes as the for our February Readalong.
Here is the summary for you about the book:
With more than five million copies sold, Flowers for Algernon is the beloved, classic story of a mentally disabled man whose experimental quest for intelligence mirrors that of Algernon, an extraordinary lab mouse. In poignant diary entries, Charlie tells how a brain operation increases his IQ and changes his life. As the experimental procedure takes effect, Charlie's intelligence expands until it surpasses that of the doctors who engineered his metamorphosis. The experiment seems to be a scientific breakthrough of paramount importance--until Algernon begins his sudden, unexpected deterioration. Will the same happen to Charlie? (Goodreads)
Hope that will spark something in you to join us on our readalong this month.
The reading voyage will be starting on Saturday, 13th February until 27th February. On the 28th February, a live discussion will be up on YouTube. The link will be available on our Twitter account shortly before the liveshow. So much fun is waiting for you on our liveshow.
Now, before it's too late, you can push your way through the door and run to the nearest bookstore and grab a copy of Flowers for Algernon. But, if you are too lazy to leave the house, you can always place an order from Bookalicious and the book will be delivered to your front door. The incredible read is only one call away.
